TimeRide GmbH
Founded in 2016, TIMERIDE GmbH is the market leader in digital edutainment and winner of the German Tourism Award. The company develops and operates as an organizer and service provider, experience-oriented time travel with the use of virtual reality technology.
TimeRide attractions
At the TIMERIDE attractions in Cologne, Berlin, Dresden, Munich, Frankfurt and at Andechs Monastery, visitors are immersed directly in the past and present thanks to state-of-the-art VR technology, multi-sensory special effects and lavishly staged interiors – giving them the impression of embarking on a journey through time. During the city tours with TIMERIDE GO!, guests can use mobile virtual reality glasses to make unique past-today comparisons on the spot.
Jonas Rothe - Founder and CEO of TimeRide GmbH
Jonas Rothe is the founder and managing director of TIMERIDE GmbH. Born in Dresden, he studied culture and music management at the University of Music and Theatre in Munich. With the founding of TIMERIDE in 2016 and the opening of the first attraction in Cologne just one year later, Jonas Rothe fulfilled his dream of time travel. Its time travel concept lets guests travel back in time with all their senses thanks to state-of-the-art VR technology, multi-sensory special effects and lavishly staged interiors.
Awards
TIMERIDE was awarded the German Tourism Prize and received the urbanana Award for TIMERIDE GO!, which is presented by Tourismus NRW for creative projects in urban areas. In addition, TIMERIDE is a laureate of the Cologne Mercurius Prize as well as the renowned Bavarian Founder’s Prize and the Munich Founder’s Prize. At the NextReality.Contest TIMERIDE won the award in the category “Best Installation”.

We are a highly motivated, interdisciplinary team of time travel guides, historians, merchants, 3D artists, designers, communication professionals and many more, who give their best every day to enable people to travel in time.
With the technology of virtual reality you look in the different stations of our original Senseums or on city tours directly into the past. Detailed designed rooms with original reconstructions and accurate virtual sceneries will let you you experience city history up close.
TIMERIDE is the leader in 'Virtual Reality Edutainment' and an exceptional, award-winning start-up. With its virtual worlds, it creates a wonderful symbiosis of education and entertainment.
Our employees were thrilled by the colorful 360° journey through time in our anniversary year. TIMERIDE staged 100 years of Haribo from a new perspective in an emotional and humorous way.
Our first Real-Virtual-Theater project 'TKKG - trapped in the past' was a great success for us and TIMERIDE was the ideal partner for the realization of the digital 3-D scenery.
