Information about Covid-19

TimeRide has adapted the security concept of the shop premises in consultation with the health authorities. The high hygienic standards that were already in place before the Corona crisis are thus further strengthened. The precautions include:

  • The virtual reality glasses are thoroughly disinfected after each use before they are made available to a new guest. Our disinfectant is also fully effective against corona and other influenza viruses according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Regular and intensive cleaning of surfaces with customer contact.
  • Obligation to wear a mouth-nose cover for guests and employees.
  • Equipping the ticket area with a protective cover for secure communication between guests and employees.
  • Observance of the distance rules through marked free spaces
  • Limitation of ticket allotment and greatly reduced visitor capacity

Tickets and vouchers already purchased are still valid and can be redeemed when the TimeRide shop reopens.

The eyepieces of the “Kaiserpanorama” station can temporarily not be used for security reasons. At this station we are now showing the making-of film by TimeRide Cologne. This allows a look behind the scenes and illustrates the making of a TimeRide. The topic “change of the cityscape” will be taken up in the extended movie in the future. For safety reasons, only group sizes of up to eight people are currently permitted. In the context of security measures, guided tours cannot be offered at present.

Tickets are converted into vouchers. These can be redeemed until 31.12.2021. To arrange a new date for your time travel, please send us an e-mail to tickets@timeride.de stating your preferred date (date & time) and the number of participants. We will gladly rebook the original date.

When visiting TimeRide there is the obligation to wear a mouth and nose cover. This must be worn for the entire duration of the visit. Without a mouth-and-nose cover, admission is unfortunately not possible.

No, each guest must bring his or her own mouth and nose cover.

No need to worry! You wear the VR headsets like you would diving goggles, except that the headsets have two miniature TVs integrated for the eyes.

Yes, in most cases; exceptions include very large glasses such as aviator sunglasses that do not fit inside the VR headset.

People wearing varifocals should take them off before the tour or replace them with single-vision glasses.

Although we cannot provide wheelchair access to our track (this is due to our faithful replica), we can set up a mobile set next to the track by prior arrangement (please no later than the day before). We can only allow one wheelchair user per tour at a time to “ride along”.

The entrance to the cable car is via 4 steps. These steps have an unequal step ratio. Our time travel companions will gladly help you to get on the train.

Persons with a severely disabled pass and a degree of disability of 50% are admitted at a reduced price. With the addition “B” in the ID card, an accompanying person receives free admission to the exhibition. During the VR tour, the accompanying person does not take part in the VR tour, but is responsible for supervision.

This regulation applies to pre sold tickets as well as to the box office.

Not at all. In hundreds of test rides, nobody has suffered from any serious motion sickness. Firstly, our VR ride is relatively slow; secondly, vibrations and the feeling of the wind rushing through your hair as you are transported along ensure that visitors experience a highly realistic sense of motion. This eliminates the main factors contributing to motion sickness.

All our stages – including the virtual reality experience – are available in both German and English. Our travel companions provide bilingual tours upon request with the film subtitled in both languages and, during the VR experience itself, each individual visitor can choose between German and English.

Children aged 6 and upwards can take part in the VR tours provided that they are accompanied by an adult. Children younger than 6 are unfortunately unable to take part.

Hold the VR headset like a pair of binoculars and move it vertically upwards and then back down without moving your head until you find the sharpest point.

The VR headset has a fixed focal point, which can vary from person to person.

We offer reservations only for groups of 8 or more. Please use our form to make a group booking. We do not take reservations by telephone.

For smaller groups, please buy advance tickets online or directly in our shop.

Yes, you can. Tickets purchased online are sent by our service provider myTicket. Alternatively, you can use the ‘Print@Home’ option.
